Nefry Falla

Nefry joined PARO in May of 2017, as the Marketing and Communications Officer and is currently fulfilling the role of PARO Circle Coordinator and Business Counsellor. She recently moved from her home country Colombia, (14 years ago, but it feels like yesterday), Nefry understands the difficulties that new Canadians face when arriving in a new country, as she experienced first-hand the adjustments of a new culture, Nefry adapted to Canada by immersing herself in her education and building networks in the community. Nefry graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Lakehead University in 2017, where she majored in Information Systems. During her University career, Nefry was an active member of Enactus Canada, a National group of young business professionals tackling community economic development driven projects. She was also, the only female winner, along with 7 males, of the Disrupt IT Weekend contest in 2017. Disrupt IT is a contest that brings together bright, passionate, entrepreneurial-minded individuals to launch an idea in 54 hours. Her education and university life sparked her passion for economic development and entrepreneurship and has allowed her to contribute to PARO Centre’s community economic development projects. With such a foundational background Nefry is always seeking more efficient and productive ways to collaborate and lead teams. Within her community, Nefry leads with her optimistic and resourceful spirit; she has participated in various projects, fundraisers and events with a cultural focus. As a Latin American Woman, she is proud of her country of origin and is always seeking new ways to expose the beauty of Latin American Culture and enrich the multiculturalism of the city. During her free time, she enjoys being with her family, in nature or with good book. She is fluent in Spanish, and English language.
