Domestic Abuse:  Identifying Signs, Safety and Support

Presented by Renata Dabrowski

In this presentation, we will explore:

  • Identifying signs and types of domestic abuse
  • Things to consider (view points, phases as a victim, children, pets, income, housing, etc.)
  • Safety Planning
  • Support Services available (natural supports and professional supports)
  • Healing journey discussion/sharing

Renata is a 2002 graduate of the Social Service Worker Program and brings 17 years of experience in the following areas of social work, child welfare system, mental health counselling, services/support planning and case management, crisis management, outreach for mental health/addictions/homelessness, infectious disease outreach.  Renata brings extensive First Nation community experience and is a domestic abuse witness (as a child/youth) and an adult survivor.
