PARO Announces Northeastern, Eastern and Southeastern Ontario’s Business Women of 2019

Huntsville, ON, March 7, 2019 - PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise (PARO) celebrated Women in Business across Northeastern, Eastern and Southeastern Ontario. The PAROBiz Huntsville19: From Dreaming to Achieving Event and Awards Ceremony recognized the achievements of ten women who have turned their entrepreneurial ideas into successful businesses.

PARO Executive Director, Rosalind Lockyer says; “There are thousands of PARO women achieving their business dream and making significant contribution to the Ontario Economy. This year’s winners are role models who represent diverse ages, cultures and sectors. Most importantly, they are visionaries and innovators who have taken considerable risks to become entrepreneurs. It gives me great pride to join with PARO women, mentors, business partners and future entrepreneurs to celebrate the achievements of Northeastern, Eastern and Southeastern, Ontario business women.”

The PAROBiz Huntsville19 event kicked off with an inspiring address from keynote speaker Yvonne Heath, Founder of the “I Just Showed up Movement”, teaching people of all ages to show up for themselves and others, so they are empowered and resilient when “grief” arrives. Yvonne shared her message with heart and humour using intelligence, empathy and a genuine uplifting spirit, to combine a powerful mix of personal insights and lessons. Yvonne demonstrated how we could live well and transform our world into a happier place.

Another key component of PAROBiz Huntsville19 was the Awards Luncheon that recognizes exceptional entrepreneurs for their achievements and community leadership.

In addition to the Awards Luncheon, PAROBiz Huntsville19 offered participants the chance to be inspired through a motivating Technology and Innovation workshop; a unique panel of PARO Circle entrepreneurs; a tradeshow exhibition featuring local women in business; and networking. The afternoon portion of the event ended with an impressive slate of eight speed mentors who shared roundtable business tips and expertise to women entrepreneurs.

Since 1995, PARO has helped thousands of women across Northern, Northwestern and Northeastern Ontario to start, grow or build new business opportunities and this has continued through their expansion into Eastern, and Southeastern Ontario.
