As part of this initiative, we are seeking a passionate and driven Communications Support to join our team and help us make a lasting impact. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative project, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future for women entrepreneurs across Canada.

What You’ll Do:
● Collaborate with the CEO, Lead Project Coordinator, Regional Coordinators, and allies, partners and stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to support the project
● Write and manage internal and external communications, including newsletters, press releases, blog posts, and email campaigns.
● Create engaging copy for marketing materials to promote project events across digital platforms (social media, websites) and traditional media.
● Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, ensuring consistent messaging in interviews, press releases, and statements
● Proactively pitch stories to media outlets in various regions to enhance event visibility and secure coverage for the project events, while strategically highlighting the impact and outcomes of the project for Canadian Women Entrepreneurs & Business Owners
● Respond to inquiries from attendees, guests, partners, and speakers promptly and professionally.
● Build relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, influencers, and
community leaders, through proactive communications and updates.
● Oversee remarketing communications targeting existing networks and existing lists and developing segmentation for new audiences.
● Develop pre-event excitement strategies such as social media campaigns or interactive content (e.g., hashtags, live Q&A)
● Coordinate marketing communications for each region (e.g., region and city-specific promotions)
● Assist with on-site event communications management tasks during the program.
● Gather communications, reports, surveys
● Provide post-event report materials to team to summarize outcomes and lessons
learned for future events.

What You’ll Do:

  • Carry out interviews, gather and analyze data from roundtables, surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Draft detailed reports and conduct analysis of findings to inform actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Project Coordinator, Regional Coordinators, facilitators, and communications support.
  • Produce one comprehensive Research Report per year with findings and strategic insights.
  • Identify trends, barriers, and opportunities to support systemic change for women entrepreneurs.
  • Guide and ensure the completion of the one-pager and effective OP-Ed with CEO, and the marketing thereof.

Who You Are:

  • A detail-oriented researcher with strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Experienced in carrying out interviews, and in gathering qualitative and quantitative data through roundtables, surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Knowledgeable about systemic barriers faced by diverse women entrepreneurs, including those in marginalized communities.
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Collaborate with the project team members to collect, compile and analyze data to assess project outcomes.
  • Conduct interviews to verify project impact on systemic change.
  • Compile a comprehensive final report summarizing findings, outcomes, and recommendations.

  • Experienced in supporting social impact initiatives and community development, with a focus on women entrepreneurs at all stages of their business journey.
  • Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with sensitivity to the challenges faced by Indigenous, BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and other underserved communities.

What You Bring:

  • A strong planner and writer with proven expertise in evaluating multi-stakeholder projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse groups of people.
  • In-depth knowledge of gender-based analysis, systemic barriers to entrepreneurship, and the support needs of women in business.

  • Outline of previous experience including work sample
  • Description of approach including:
    • identifying deliverables that will be addressed
    • your consultant approach to centering the experiences of Indigenous, BIPOC, persons with disabilities, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, etc.
    • high level work plan describing methods, approaches, timelines and roles for the work required – Description of anticipated challenges, risks and difficulties and proposed strategies to address them
