Collaboration Innovation Tables

The Collaboration for Transformation project is a systems-change effort led by PARO in partnership with non-profits, community leaders and the private sector, supported by Women Advancing Women in Entrepreneurship (WAGE). It uses methods such as surveys, focus groups and interviews (“Collaboration Innovation Tables”) to listen to women entrepreneurs—particularly Indigenous, newcomer and other diverse women—and understand their lived experiences and the structural barriers they face in accessing financing, scaling, and procurement markets. The aim is not simply to offer training, but to transform the underlying systems (for example, policies, institutional practices, and bias in procurement) so that women can fully participate in Canada’s economic life. The project seeks to increase: (1) the understanding of barriers to women’s entrepreneurial participation; (2) women’s access to markets and financing; and (3) the network of partners and allies advocating for gender-equitable business ecosystems.
